DIY & Crafts: 3 Ways to Makeover Pumpkins for Fall

This fall, I am looking to switch some of my décor up. I started decorating for fall a few months ago, so by now I am ready to switch things up! I decided to swap out my traditional orange pumpkins for something new and rustic.

I was at my local Dollar Tree, and came across their huge assortment of faux foam pumpkins, so I picked up a few and decided to give them a complete transformation. I ended up going with 3 different looks, and might I say they added beautiful touches of fall décor to my home! Check out below to see how I created these 3 different looks!

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Foam Pumpkins
  • Spray Paint or Acrylic Paint
  • Succulents
  • Glass Canning Jar
  • LED Tealights
  • Faux Greenery
  1. Lantern Pumpkin:

Paint a foam pumpkin white and cut a circular hole in the middle to place a glass jar or candleholder with an LED battery-operated tealight. Finish this look by gluing faux foliage or greenery for a minimalist nature-inspired look!

  1. Distressed Pumpkin:

With a combination of gold, silver, and white paint, transform a foam pumpkin into neutral fall décor. Additionally, paint and glue faux foliage and berries for the perfect touch of texture. Layer these pumpkins in a basket or bin with blankets for a cozy scene!

  1. Succulent Pumpkin:

Paint a foam pumpkin white and cut a circular hole in the middle insert faux succulents and moss to use the pumpkin as a planter. Use as a centerpiece or table accent for a modern spin on fall décor!
